William Joseph was born in 1992 and is from the Squamish Nation in BC Canada. His father Cody Mathias and uncle Rocky Mathias were his main mentors to becoming an artist. He mostly does cedar carvings like plaques, talking sticks and totem poles. He has helped his dad on many totem poles over the years. Family is his main inspiration for most of his art and the vision he sees as well as going out in nature to get inspiration on the beautiful natural designs.
