Kilila Marlene Apodaca. I was born in 1967. I am a member of the Squamish Nation, currently living on the Cheakamus reserve. I’m a self taught carver. I have since learned from my brother Eddie Apodaca, and his wife Ruth Joseph. I was mentored by my cousin master carver Jacob Lewis who taught me how to inlay abalone shell. I have been a carver for 30 years, and wish to teach one day.
