Traditionally, paintings done by Squamish Nation Artists are found on carved objects, such as Bentwood Boxes, Masks, Paddles, Talking Sticks, Totem Poles and other native carvings. However, today many indigenous paintings are on canvas and paper as well. These paintings, like the ones done on wood carvings, often depict stories and myths, spiritual creatures and animals.
Additionally, West Coast Indigenous Artists have started to produce limited edition prints of their original drawings and paintings. This allows the artists to still sell their original paintings and drawings and at the same time make their art available and to a wider variety of collectors and museums. Our gallery contains both original paintings as well as limited addition prints.
