Wood Carving Butterfly Native Box

$2,400.00 CAD

Description

This beautiful Cedar crate was created by master Carver Jimmy Joseph. Fittingly named the butterfly box, the lid of the box depicts a kneeling indigenous woman, with indigenous man as a butterfly totem. The front panel reveals a Killer Whale exhaling an indigenous woman. Killer Whales symbolize extreme intelligence as well as our ancestors. The sides of the crate masterfully display the carving of the Hummingbird and Thunderbird. This Crate rests on a formed sturdy base. The solid lid of the box is attached to a band of hinges whilst a chain from the box’s lid holds the opened box lid upright.
