This small but detailed plaque was carved by Paul Joseph, a tenured artist based in the Squamish region. This piece is made from red cedar and coated with traditional greens and reds.

Thunderbird: The Indigenous Thunderbird symbol represents power, protection, and strength. He is often seen as the most powerful of all spirits and can also transform into human form by opening his head like a mask and taking his feathers off as if they were a mere blanket.
