This wall panel have seven figures carved in one piece of wood.  The top of this panel shows a thunderbird and eagle facing each other, bear holding a salmon, seal catching a salmon and  killer whale. Each eyes are decorated with paua shells with lots of deep cuts and painted in traditional colors.

Thunderbird is a giant supernatural bird named for his habit of causing thunder ands lightening. Beneath his wing he carries lightning snakes, which are his weapons, Thunder rolls from the flap of his wings and lightning flashes when he blinks his great eyes. Thunderbird rules majestically, keeping a close watch over his dominion. his  also a illustrious ancestor of many prominent human lineages and a proud, powerful and noble being in myths throughout the Northwest Coast.

Eagle is one of the most important being in the art and mythology. It is respected for its intelligence and power, as well as its extraordinary vision, in both the literal and figurative senses.

Bear is the most prevalent figures in crest and shamanic art, as well as in myths, It is considered to be a close relation of human kind. The bear link between the human and no human animal realms, as well as between the secular natural realm and the divine or supernatural. Because of their strength and fierceness. Bears are frequently the guardian, protectors and helping spirit of warriors.

Salmon are honored and celebrated by all Coastal people; the fish serves as a powerful symbol of regeneration, self-sacrifice and perseverance.

Seal represents wealth and plenty. Among the Kwakwaka’wakw,chief of the undersea world, they are traditionally an important resource providing food, oil (for fuel) and tough, water proof hides that could be fashioned into useful items such as whaling floats.

Killer whale is widely recognized as clan ancestors, These majestic creatures are associated with strenght, dignity, prosperity and longevity. They are also associated with copper and wealth.
