Seldom do we see a transformation mask so well made and stunning! Created by a master carver, this mask of a killer whale with a human inside, opens and closes smoothly. Even the killer whale fin on top opens in two halves. The mask is decorated with 3 pieces of abalone on each fin on the sides of the mask. As well the eyes of the human are made with abalone and the mouth is carved open. There is woven cedar bark rope wrapped around the outside mask. Nicely painted as well this mask is very unique and decorative! Please read what the artist says:

Komokwa is a figure in the mythology of Pacific Northwest Peoples. Komokwa is the god of the undersea world. Symbolizing wealthy healing power and is able to for see the future.
