William Nahanee is a Squamish Nation artist born in 1941 that has been carving for over 25 years. His main mentors for carving and art are his elders he grew up with. His main style of art is sculptures but he is also very passionate about singing, drums and teaching about the legends and stories growing up. His first and most proud piece he completed was a welcome figure which is also the first piece he ever created, and has done over 5000 presentations up Grouse Mountain.
