Neil Baker is a prod member of the Squamish Nation Band Reserve in British Columbia, Hails from the rich vibrant Coast Salish bloodline. A self-taught artist, Neil has dedicated himself to the traditional art of carving, learning not only the techniques also the deep cultural significance behind each piece by listening closely to the wisdom of his elders.
Neil’s signiture carving is a stunning “School of Salmon” tribute to the life-sustaining fish that holds immense cultural importance to the Coast Salish people. This design reflects his deep connection to his heritage and natural world.
In addition to his iconic salmon’s carvings, Neil is also skilled in creating paddles, table sculptures and totem poles. Neil continuous to honor his culture and share its beauty and significance with the world.
