A Coast Salish Artist, Lance Joseph was born in 1957 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Lance lives in the beautiful coastal range of North Vancouver with his five children and grandchildren. He is a member of the Coast Salish Tribe of the Squamish Nation of a wolf and raven clan in Capilano Reserve. He is the 5th child of Stan Joseph Sr.

Lance came from a family of talented artists, He started to carve when he was eleven years old. He made a totem pole in Capilano reserve longhouse and that piece of work is his most proud of and his biggest accomplishment. The type of art that he likes to do is carving of totem poles, paddle, masks, table sculpture, and feathers plaque.
