Josh George was born in April 1983. He is a member of the Squamish Band in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Josh Began his artistic training in 1999, under the guidance of Cody Matthias and Gary Baker. He mastered the basic of carvings very soon and sought out the opportunity of working with Paul Joseph, Eric Baker and Jim Yelton, whose art has influenced Josh’s creating style. Josh has found more inspiration by observing and participating in Pow-Wow dances. He is a wood carver. He uses red and yellow cedar for his master pieces. Eagle and Bear are the motifs he likes most. He has carved plaques, masks, and will continue to grow in his abilities as a carver. Meanwhile he enjoys sports and finished school. As he has not been carving for very long, he has not yet begun to teach anyone how to carve. However, as the tradition has continued for centuries, there is a very good chance that someday he will teach the art, and connoisseurs will see a lot of him.
