Art Harry was born and raised in Squamish, BC. He started to learn how to carve from his Dad and his close friend, the late Chief Harry Joseph.

In an early curious age of 14-15 he went along with Harry Joseph to nighttime carving classes. As soon as he saw what the Chief was capable of making out of the wood it grasped a piece of his heart. He instantly was hooked to the fine craftsmanship of carving. After learning from Chief Harry and his sons he was taught more from his first Cousin Rick Harry. He took him under his wings for a while, teaching him in school and at the reservoir. After a few years he went on his own path to pursue his own projects of poles, large and small plaques, figurines, bent boxes, paddles and his favourite: picture frames.
